Every goal tool asks a person to type the link at the end. Connectors read it from the work as it lands.

Every cascade assumes total alignment. Real portfolios are full of platform and regulatory work that moves no number. Here it is funded, visible, and claims nothing.
Nobody grades themselves
OKR's chronic failure is self-graded confidence. Goal deletes the input rather than policing it. Claims are read by evidence.
The unreached share is computed
Every framework reports what is covered. None computes what is not. Goal does, on every goal, every sync.
What Goal refuses
Four constraints, each with a reason.
A tree, not a matrix
Every goal has one parent, and claims a share of that parent's number in that parent's unit. Your matrix renders as a lens. Numbers do not flow through it.
One vocabulary per level
Depth is the rung. Bets beside commitments are answered by evidence on the claim, not by two kinds of node at one altitude.
One accountable name per area
A person or a team. Enforced in the database. Consulted and informed are links, not owners.
Cost, schedule and capacity stay out, for now
No percent complete, no earned value, no resource plan. They own when and how much. Goal owns why and whether. Your planning suite keeps that half.
Two honest differences
We have three to five key results per objective. Goal wants one measure per goal.
Each key result becomes its own goal under the objective, with its own owner and its own number. The tree is one level deeper than you drew it. That is better practice, and a migration story rather than a bug.
Half our key results are milestones. “Launch X.” “Hire three engineers.”
They land as enabling work with no measure, on a rung that expects none. Real, funded, visible, and claiming no share of a number. Goal will say so in week one, and it will feel like a classification rather than a scolding.
Will it fight our PMO?
No. Outputs, outcomes and benefits map cleanly; benefits are read from a system instead of self-reported months later. Cost and schedule stay in your planning suite, and Goal reads its measures from there when you connect it.
